Imagine Me Doing a Power Point Presentation!

Imagine me making a power point presentation!  Imagine me getting the tech right!  Imagine you sitting in the auditorium discovering all the new and wonderful tech tools–from my power point!

That has got to be one of the more awesome genealogy experiences you can imagine for 2009.  [You all know that I am just learning computer basics–a few at a time. ]

At the St. George (Utah) Family History Expo, Feb 27-28 2009, I, Me, Moi will deliver the Keynote Address:  “Today’s Genealogy Resource Media Make Digging Roots That Easy.” And they have assigned me a coach and teacher, Barry Ewell, to ensure I get it right.

Hey guys, if I can master it, you can do it too!

A Keynote Address has these tasks:

  1. Introduce the theme of the Conference–Diggin’ Roots–Its that easy!
  2. Unleash your excitement in new genealogy applications of 21st- century technology.  New genealogy search engines.  New genealogy portals.  Access to stuff you never knew was out there.
  3. Sharpen your vision of why genealogy integrity is essential.  And how your ability to prove and document your ancestors better and faster is bail-out time for us all.  TIME.  MONEY.  More important–ANCESTORS.

Whatever your genealogy plans are for 2009,  don’t let the fear of depression prevent you from realizing the high-octane power of genealogy tech in your life!  And your ancestors’ lives.  And mine too:  if I get it right, the first time around, I will want an audience!

Remember…The Exhibit/Vendors’ Hall is FREE and open to all.  You don’t have to register for the conference to come see all that is new and exciting.  My booths, #315 and 317 will be chock full of my publications.  And me, I, Moi:    You can bring your hardest-to-find ancestor (please remember your pedigree chart and family groups) and ask me for research tips that will help you search and find.  FREE. And my web-master Kathryn Bassett, who also teaches me the tech.

The Conference will be at the Dixie Center on the east side of I-15  in St. George UT, at the Bluff Street exit (according to Google Earth.)  For more information, check http://www.fhexpos.com

Just imagine what you can accomplishon your family tree–when you know how!  Your favorite genealogist, Arlene Eakle  http://www.arleneeakle.com

PS   Genealogy can no longer be a hit and a guess. Do you have any concept of the number of hours it takes to disprove a non-ancestor?  Or if you have hired me, how much of your money I spend to disprove a non-ancestor?  And if you are researching your own pedigree lines, how much effort you expend on someone else’s ancestors?  And if you are LDS, how much time you waste trying to tie your real grandparents to ancestors that do not connect?  To me, a professional genealogist, that is the real 21st-century depression.

I CAN imagine this Arlene! You are one of the most talented people in professional genealogy. Barry Ewell will assist you with the Power Point, but you’ve got the magic touch, and will most certainly kick off the St. George FHExpo to a GREAT start!
