Is it time for a Genealogy Research Retreat with ME?

Do you feel like you could use a break? Want to have a get-away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life? Would you like a  full week devoted to discovering your ancestors? Then come join me at the Family History Expos Research Retreat at the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah.

From 12 April to 17 April 2010– I, me, moi, Arlene Eakle, will personally, take you by the hand and lead you to your hard-to-find ancestors.

A research retreat provides you with the opportunity to work on some of your own genealogy brick-walls and dead ends.

And you know how a dead-end on your pedigree gets there, don’t you?  Incomplete, hurried, lazy, inherited genealogy work!  What others give you always has to be worked on to prove the links to you and extend the dead ends.  And to document the unsourced sections of your lineage.
I will be accompanied by Jimmy Parker and Judy Wight–two of the most knowledgeable researchers at the Family History Library.  They both have worked for the FHL as consultants on the reference counters–something I have never done.  And their skills and experiences are exclusively yours to use during the Retreat.
Register for your personal Genealogy Research Retreat–for this week of a lifetime–right now, before something else interfers, or diverts your attention to less significant matters–Retreat, April 12-17, 2010. Your favorite genealogist, Arlene Eakle   http://arleneeakle.com
PS  Hurry, there isn’t much time.  And I am giving three brand-NEW classes on tracing immigrant ancestors.  Classes newly written for this Retreat, with your ancestors in mind.  You won’t want to miss these.  I am including all of my best, very best, immigration examples and all the newest books, internet sites, and special strategies that I have not shared before.  My advice:  sign-up and get access to this stuff!
PPS  You can use part of your tax refund in a truly productive way.  This FH EXPOS Research Retreat, 12-17 April 2010 is one of the best genealogy bargains available–three top, high-powered professional genealogists at your beck and call!  For a whole week!

Arlene – that sounds fantastic! Wish I could be there with you – unfortunately finances and work prevent this for me. I am primarily tracing Italian immigrant families – have to tell you though I am getting frustrated with the Family Search site – they have so many pedigree sheets and family tree snippets with major errors. For our family all living in one town where the name is spelled identically except for last vowel (and then has four variations of that vowel) it is crazy not to insist on proper certifications and source of a submission. I know that one particular family group is repeated several times with improper dates and ages – and with no certifications/citations, this is ruining those trees where folks are trying to sort the messes out! Unfortunately few of us can travel to Italy and even there it is not easy to access all records so we are counting on proper information from Family Search.
I have been using the microfilms where available – but much was destroyed during the war. I was told by the official (in person) that a brave soul found the books being burned by Nazis and at great personal risk went back and saved as many vital records as he could – and hid them until the war ended! So now finding the same erros being repeated as fact instead of corrected is frustrating!
    Just my opinion…
