Two Important American Genealogists Gone…

In Memoriam:

Loni Gardner, Bountiful Utah, died 4 July 2020. I visited with Loni in late May when I picked up a legal size filing cabinet she wanted to donate to my Genealogy Library Center Genealogy Library, in Tremonton Utah. We laughed and joked about the impact of the Covid-19 Virus that has changed our genealogy activity in 2020. We both were looking forward to the Annual Salt Lake Christmas Tour of Leland Meitzler’s. Loni and I usually shared table space  on the third floor of the Family History Library. I will miss her sunny greetings each day and her willingness to share her research tips with folks that I  consult with. Her computer skills enabled her to find data online quickly!

Johni Cerny, Salt Lake City Utah, died 19 Feb 202o. Johni and I wrote two best-selling books together and spent many hours in consultation with each other. When I had hard questions facing my genealogy research, I could always ask Johni what she thought. I knew her extensive knowledge and research experience would give me a jump-start. She was in my prayers for many months and her courage in the face of health challenges inspired me too. The whole genealogy world will miss Johni! Keep our books close by your research desk, their instructions are actually timeless!

PS Would we could re-wind 2020 and capture answers to our questions before the loss of these two very important women.
