\nCreation and publication of a family tree, a genealogy, a family history is an achievement in truth–at least it should be.\u00a0 Yet, in print and across the internet are some of the most appalling examples of what we call genealogy: People who live 200 years<\/strong>.\u00a0 Children born in places that don’t exist<\/strong>.\u00a0 Women giving birth at Biblical ages<\/strong>.\u00a0 Documents cited<\/strong> that do not name the ancestor or any member of his family.<\/p>\n

From where I sit, straddling the divide between manual<\/strong>–writing with pen or pencil on paper–and digital<\/strong>–converting written records to readable text on the computer screen, real genealogy expertise is badly needed.\u00a0 Research tools that work are required.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a fact!\u00a0 Just one hour per day<\/strong> of concentrated and focused study produces an expert over time.\u00a0 There are some behavioral scientists who believe that 30 minutes per day will do it.<\/p>\n

And I can attest that daily study has led me to genealogy research success.\u00a0 It really is possible to solve 20-year genealogy problems.\u00a0 I do it every week:\u00a0 Identify the right ancestors.\u00a0 Place them on the pedigree.\u00a0 Then start over with the next generation.\u00a0 Or, follow the same steps on an entirely new lineage–with the same result.<\/p>\n
