A message of great gratitude\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

The turkey is the symbol of gratitude in America\u2014go figure.
\n__He sleeps in trees to escape predators;\u00a0 yet, builds his nest on the ground.
\n__He blushes when excited or nervous\u2014and turns his red wattle white<\/em> or blue.
\n__He spreads his feathers into a great fan, gobbles, and struts around to attract a mate who does not gobble nor strut.
\n__His meat contains tryptophan, the amino acid used by the body to make serotonin which causes sleep and a general feeling of well-being.
\n\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong> __Wild turkeys can fly at 55 mph; domestic turkeys have too much breast meat\u2014the weight keeps them on the ground.<\/p>\n

And we gather around this grand bird with our families each November, taking hands in thanks to God for turkey, the trimmings, and all the blessings we receive through the year. We load our plates with all the bounty of the earth. We revel in the companionship of relatives and good friends. <\/strong><\/p>\n

And with our tummies and hearts full\u2014we share a moment of great gratitude\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n
