Last year I posted\u00a0my genealogy research work, by surname<\/strong>–work\u00a0that\u00a0<\/em>I had finished, reports ready to ship, and research still being worked on–on this blog.\u00a0 Several readers who are also clients, asked me to continue doing it.\u00a0 So by popular request, below\u00a0are the lists. In 2o10, I\u00a0made several research field trips, all of them–but one–were very successful!\u00a0 With substantial breakthroughs for several difficult-to-find ancestors.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The one trip that failed was at the\u00a0end of July when I had to turn back because floodwaters\u00a0inundated Nashville TN and closed more than 300 roads in Kentucky.\u00a0 The main culprit was the Cumberland River.\u00a0 This river\u00a0and its tributaries flow through\u00a0both states.\u00a0 And even with all the flood control built on that river system, Nature <\/em>got the best of us.\u00a0 And for the very first time in my genealogy career, I could not get into either state.\u00a0 The Highway Departments told me to stay out!<\/p>\n

      Note:<\/strong>\u00a0 If your surname is not listed here, research is underway.\u00a0 Watch the next posting on this blog for status.\u00a0 Remember that I group research surnames for research in similar record categories and databases.\u00a0 You get more research for your investment.\u00a0 And I can work more effectively to track hard-to-find ancestors.\u00a0 Notice that #2 and #4, in the”still being worked on”\u00a0 list, both\u00a0have the surname Lockwood in\u00a0NY.\u00a0 These can be researched together saving both of them money and research time.\u00a0 If there is a relationship between the two, I will catch it.<\/p>\n

      My written reports are sent by email, just ahead of the raw data from which the report is drafted.\u00a0 This way you know that your report is on its way and what to look for that is significant in the data.\u00a0 You can request an audio tape of the report\u00a0if you wish.\u00a0 I talk you through the data and my conclusions.\u00a0 Working this way allows the data to dictate the<\/strong> conclusions.<\/strong>\u00a0 And sometimes the data render surprises–the ancestor supposed to fit on the pedigree is displaced by someone else!\u00a0 Where this happens, I document the new ancestor or outline searches that will document the connection.\u00a0 Your favorite genealogist, Arlene Eakle\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 http:\/\/arleneeakle.com<\/a><\/p>\n
