The Good News:\u00a0 all files saved.\u00a0 With multiple copies stored in separate places, states apart.<\/p>\n
The Bad News:\u00a0 both processors too old to load current software and restore my Outlook <\/strong>email.<\/p>\n Not to worry… email files and addresses all saved\u00a0 by Kathryn–you know her.\u00a0 Although there may be\u00a0viruses tucked away inside.\u00a0 Just can’t send email to my research clients from the files I already had established–with folders and status and convenient short-cuts.\u00a0 Actually, can’t send emails at all–I don’t know how to access\u00a0open emails on the internet.<\/p>\n Not to worry…a new computer system is in the offing, with\u00a0current software to restore Outlook<\/strong>.\u00a0 Just have to find time to go shopping.<\/p>\n So please be patient for another couple of weeks.\u00a0 In the meantime I am working at the Family History Library almost every day, all day.\u00a0 And I will be doing research everyday, in the evening during the Family History Expos Research Retreat<\/span>.\u00a0 And we will stop for research on the way to and from the Atlanta Family History E<\/span>xpo to be held in Duluth GA, the second weekend of November.\u00a0 (You should be registered to attend that event–I’m speaking on two topics I don’t get much chance to do–just for the Atlanta audience–and on the test\u00a0version of Pedigree Ladies, <\/strong><\/em>which will become the first in a series of GenTeacher<\/em><\/strong> products to be launched in 2012 by Family History Expos.\u00a0 Go to http:\/\/www.familyhistoryexpos.com<\/a> to register for either event.\u00a0 You won’t want to miss them and MOI.\u00a0 ME.\u00a0 Right?)<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n And in the meantime, I have my laptop for research and access to the internet and to my in-coming <\/span>email.<\/p>\n WHEW–now you know the perils of limited computer knowledge in the hands of an unparalled-expert in genealogy research–MOI.\u00a0 ME.<\/p>\n Stay tuned for the next verse in this sad saga.\u00a0 Who knows , the next verse could be really exciting!\u00a0 Your favorite genealogist, Arlene Eakle http:\/\/arleneeakle.com<\/a><\/p>\n PS\u00a0 But from a foreign computer, Word Press has locked me out of posting anything on my other blogs.\u00a0 And\u00a0 I have great new stuff for Tennessee<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Or, a Tale of Two Processors– The Good News:\u00a0 all files saved.\u00a0 With multiple copies stored in separate places, states apart.
