“…camels trained to walk in alphabetical order…”

“In the 10th century, the Grand Vizier of Persia took his entire library with him when he traveled.  This 117,000-volume library was carried by camels trained to walk in alphabetical order!”  www.cedco.com

My new computer is in hand, with Windows 8.1 and lots of features and memory, thanks to my webmaster, Kathryn Bassett.  And while I’m still held captive by what I don’t know, yet–I have taken on new technology for access and communication.

  1. My email is now restored–so I can reach you faster with research questions and results.  What you know about your ancestors, along with documents and charts can also be shared more quickly…  (Don’t you just hate it when your email is down?)
  2. Blogs will be updated–for all subject areas with the new information  discovered each and every time I visit the Family History Library in Salt Lake City.  Or, visits to any library or bookstore…
  3. And while I don’t have camels walking in alphabetical order, you (and I) will benefit from my newly acquired skills with technology.  A goal of the new year is to learn how to sync my smart phone with my laptops.  I have mastered how to use the cloud to access information and files wherever I happen to find myself.  Being mobile is now possible–including hot-spot wireless access…
  4. In reality, with all this new technology, entire libraries can be available 24/7!  At our fingertips available!  Ready to read and compile family charts available!  And ready to share available…
