“Genealogy at a Glance”–

Genealogy at a Glance—a series of 4-page genealogy research guides written by acknowledged experts in the field and published by Genealogical Publishing Company. These short sheets are laminated. And they are updated regularly to provide current websites and URLs; and to include newly issued resources. They remind me of handouts that I have collected over the years and those I have prepared to accompany conference presentations of my own. I keep them organized and handy as ready references for the research projects I work on for my clients. Such guides supply websites, specific locations for records now, short bibliographies for books I might need along the way.

These guides can be ordered directly from Genealogical Publishing Company, Inc., 3600 Clipper Mill Rd, Baltimore MD 21211. http://genealogical.com. Or from Leland Meitzler’s Family Roots Publishing Company, PO Box 1682, Orting, WA 98360. http://familyrootspublishing.com Other vendors at conferences and genealogy bookstores may carry selected titles. Cost: $9.95 each:

PS Any research aid that makes your work more effective or shortens the time you must spend to know where to look is welcome. Right? You cannot know just where your ancestors left tracks until you look. What defeats you is cutting short your search too soon.
